1st things first, can we just give a slow clap round of applause for all of those folks having destination weddings!? I mean, I am HERE FOR IT!
Think about it, if your guests are going to, inevitably, end up booking a flight and possible hotel stay anyway …why not have a wedding abroad!? That’s exactly how we ended up in Cabo and I’m forever grateful for the excuse to get out and about to celebrate love.
This was my FIRST time to Mexico (don’t judge me) and I was so ready for this, y’all have no idea. Aaron, unfortunately, was unable to tag along but shout out to my mom for always being my faithful wedding backup date. Let’s not waste anymore time, let’s get like Trey Songz and “DIIIIVVVEEE INNN” (no idea what I’m talking about, here you go. Be warned, NSFW)
Number 1
Stay at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach
Y’all. We usually try to stay clear of the all inclusive resorts because we’ve heard one too many horror stories about stomach issues. However, we can not stress enough how amazing this resort is. If you’re looking for a resort that is high end, has ALL the options for food, drink and activities and then is also within close proximity of the town Cabo, look no further. With beachfront property, this resort boasts it all. With 10 on-site restaurants ranging from pizza and a 50’s diner to a fancy steakhouse and 5-star Mexican cuisine, every person can find something their taste buds will rejoice over. We’re not kidding, there grab and go “The Bistro” serves fresh SUSHI rolls, you guys. Do you know how dangerous that is?
Another plus, the property is SO HUGE that you can ride in cute little go carts all around the property to get you from pool to pool, activity to activity and restaurant to restaurant. Trust us when we tell you, you don’t want to stay anywhere else if you’re visiting Cabo.
Number 2
ATV Tour
We had TOO much fun exploring the secluded beaches of Cabo with Cactus Tour. Our tour started with a fun little surprise encounter with a few colorful birds and then we were off to explore the vacant beach lands surrounding the area. For a second, I thought I was 007 escaping a secret mission as we whipped around in figure 8’s, through bushes and trees, uphill, downhill - We had a blast! INSIDER TIP: If you opt in for the last tour of the day, you get KILLER sunset views and pictures. Also, highly recommend you invest in the vanilla tequila they offer you a shot of after the tour. It was liquid candy!
Number 3
Sunset Cruise to the The Arch
What’s more romantic than taking a boat ride out into the bay to catch the sun drop behind the famous Arch? Nothing, absolutely nothing. We turned our boat ride into a booze cruise but I mean… we were celebrating a wedding, okay!
Some quick fun facts that we did not learn while trying to stay alive on our pontoon boat but we did learn in research: El Arco (or the Arch) is part of El Finisterra (The Land's End) rock formation and is positioned at the most southern tip of Baja California. The Arch is also where the Sea of Cortez collides with the Pacific Ocean.
7. There is a phenomenon that occurs every few years in which a beach is visible around the El Arco. Sometimes it is even possible to walk under the arch when this occurs. The event is caused by the tides and is very hard to predict, although there are various theories postulating that the phenomenon occurs every 7 years, every 4 years, etc. The most recent photos of the beach's appearance around the arch are from 1989 and 2008.

Explore Downtown Cabo
If you go to Cabo and don’t at least visit Squid Roe, did you even go to Cabo? However, confession, we did NOT go to Squid Roe this trip. So here’s some awesome stock photos of people having a blast, enjoying their night on the town.
But in all seriousness, the town of cabo is SO FREAKING CUTE! You must head that way to explore the area, there’s so many cute mom and pop stores. INSIDER TIP: Head to Bravo Italia Gelato Bistro (say that 10 times fast) for a quick cool down. Or if you’re up for the trek, swing by TRICS rolled ice cream, trust, it’s worth it. It’s even on the way if you stay at Pueblo Bonito Sunset… justttt saying.
Number 5
Have a bonfire on the beach
How many times have you seen those boho sheikh bonfire set ups on the beach and thought, man, I wish I could do that. Now you can! Cabo is the perfect place to make this dream become a reality. Our friend who got married is a TRUE expert planner and had this included in our itinerary and it was a magical way to start off the wedding weekend. I, unfortunately, opted to NOT bring my DSLR so my photos are TERRIBLE but you get the gist.
