AARON & TEY

We are a newlywed couple and we love when our “Date Nights” are in a different neighborhood, city, state, or even country. We love people and we love to travel. Our story in a jiff: We're originally from Idaho and we've known each other since 2nd grade. In March 2015, we decided to tie the knot in sunny Fallbrook, CA. As compatible as we may be, we are complete opposite in a lot of ways. For example, Aaron loves the country and Tey loves the City. With this opposition, our vacation picks cover a little bit of everything on the spectrum which is always fun and pretty entertaining!

GET GONE

Now that you know "Who". Let's Talk about the "What, When, and Where":

WHAT: Get Gone (and travel) serves the purpose of standing as our very own personal journal – for the world to read. We’ll share our opinions on do’s and don’ts, where and why’s and even our “how”.

WHEN: It all starts……NOW!

WHERE: We currently live in Southern California but we hope that this blog will see and share locations all over the world. The plan is to start in North America and work our way out as far as the pocket book will stretch. :)

OUR "WHY"

Simply put, we wish to EXPLORE, INSPIRE, and REPEAT.

Often times, when we are traveling and looking up the TOP things to do and places to see in any given city, we run into the same options: bar, “top” restaurant, bar, bar, museum, and more bars. Because apparently the only thing to do these days is eat, look at artifacts or socialize at a local bar. And let’s be real, local bars are the more mature sibling of a college house party. With better food. Sometimes....Okay, rarely.

Even though we do appreciate (some) top restaurant recommendations we stumble upon, majority of the recommended restaurants you see advertised are overrated and under-plated. Sure, you get to check “5-star restaurant” off your bucket list but when your stomach is left just as empty as your pocket book, it’s not really worth it.  I mean come on! Majority of the people traveling are college students, young adults, newlyweds like us, et cetera! We don’t all necessarily have 500 bones to eat 2 strips of sashimi and garnish. For us personally, we’ve got student loans to pay. Not to mention the house we want to purchase and a future mini me (God bless us all) we’ll be investing in within the next couple of years. Every penny counts. "The Traveling Life" cannot simply be about how the pitchfork was invented, watching single guys get denied time and time again at a bar (though that is entertaining) and snacking at a 5-Star restaurant. Or is it?

NOPE.

Absolutely not. Traveling should be fun, eye-opening, and adventurous, in every sense of the word. The more you throw yourself out there into the unknown, the more you learn about yourself and others. Our purpose? Inspire you to get up and get moving. We'll be sharing details only on places we've been to in hopes of showing you that there is more to traveling than just being a tourist. As they say, "Good things come to those that travel". All you have to do is: GET GONE! (baddum tshhh)
